RSVP invites adults age 55 and over to use their life experience and skills to answer the call of their neighbors. Our volunteers are serving
at 29 Volunteer Stations around our county. RSVP is a part of the National Senior Service Corps of the Corporation for National Service and is sponsered locally by Iowa Lakes Community College.
Faith in Action Volunteer Service project is made possible by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The project is moving forward using non-professional, trained volunteers to assist people with long term health needs by providing
visits, minor home repairs, transportation/escort, yard work, shopping/errands etc. The hope is to build a relationship between the volunteer and care recipient thus reducing isolation and loneliness.
Meals On Wheels of Dickinson County ,Inc. strives to help elderly remain in their homes longer by providing a daily nutritious home delivered meal.As part of administering the program, , volunteers are used in container preparation,delivery, billing, and coordination of volunteers.
Department of Human Service Transportation Assistance Program enlists volunteers to assist Title XIX clients with transportation to medical appointments locally as well as to out of town appointments.
America’s Promise – The Alliance For Youth works through the efforts of Priority #1, Inc., a coalition committed to promoting positive youth development through the 40 Developmental Assets,and Character Counts.
